Finlit – Financial Literacy App South Africa

Finlit is an end-to-end educational mobile application built to improve financial literacy among South African youth. I was responsible for the entire product lifecycle, including user research, concept development, wireframing, UI/UX design, front-end development, back-end development, and system logic. The app delivers structured financial lessons through video-based content, written explanations, and interactive questions. Users complete lessons and quizzes to earn points, which are converted into tokens. These tokens can be redeemed for real vouchers such as airtime, ride vouchers, and other South African retail rewards. By combining education with gamification and tangible incentives, Finlit encourages consistent learning and positive financial habits in a way that is engaging, practical, and accessible.
